How to add a custom deduction.

  1. Sign in to your Workmax admin account.
  2. Go to the “People” section.
  3. Select the Employee.
  4. Select the “Pay items” tab.
  5. Click on the “Add custom deduction” button.
  6. Enter deduction details.
    • Name.
    • Amount.
    • Pay frequency amount.
    • Start date.
    • End date (Optional).
  1. Click the “Save” button.

Workmax will start making deductions on the next pay run. Custom deductions will run until the amount recorded is reached.

 

For example, if you set up. A “Cycle to work salary sacrifice” custom deduction of £2000, and the employee is paid £24,000 annually.

For a monthly pay frequency

 Gross pay = 24,000 / 12 = 2000

Cycle to work salary sacrifice = 2000 / 12 = 166.67

Net pay (before statutory deduction) = 1833.33
